Taking Naps

I just woke up from a 45 minute afternoon nap. I usually take one every day, unless I'm too busy. Even then I end up sleeping on the bus/in the car on the way to or from wherever I'm going. I can fall asleep just about anywhere and anytime. Most likely you'll find me sleeping at home in the afternoon in front of my computer. The second my nurse puts my headset on and turns the computer on, I fall asleep. That's exactly what happened today. Then for the next hour or so after I wake up I'm really groggy and fade in and out of sleep.

I have to be careful when I fall asleep when I'm using the computer because sometimes I start doing something and then I fade off before I turn the microphone off. If I'm not talking, the microphone will sometimes pick up the sound of my breath and interpret it as the word "him". If I'm typing on Microsoft Word and I fall asleep, I'll wake up to the word "him" written like 25 times. Either that or I'll be on some website I didn't know existed. I guess it's kind of funny when I think about it.

I do like taking naps, but sometimes I feel like it just wastes so much time, especially if I have a lot of stuff to do. I wish I could sleep better at night, and not have to worry about catching up on sleep in the middle of the day.

Remember when I used your headset and we tried to write a story but, it came out really goofy cause it coulnd't pick up the words I was saying, haha. It just reminded me of that when you said you forget to turn your microphone off it picks up words from your breathing. I wonder if you saved that story or, if you have it?? We should write another one!!!

Love you, Kris

if i read Krirten well it seems that your dictation program is not easy to use and that it must take you a lot of effort to write things down (especially because you want to have everything written down state of the art) So thanks for your effort to keep us posted and to keep up your great blog
