A Sudden Change

Today is the seven-year anniversary of my accident. I went to church this morning and they aired My Faith video that I made. It's very ironic that it just happens to be November 1; they didn't plan that on purpose. The pastor saved my video for last, and after showing it he read the first part of the about me section that I have on blog. It was very good and I think I made an impact on a lot of people. After the service, many people came up to me and said thank you for sharing my story. I posted the video below. I say basically everything in the video that I probably would have written in the post today talking about the anniversary of my accident.

"It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power."

"There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom."

Hi Jenni!

You might not remember me but I was your student nurse in the PICU. I started taking care of you 4 days after the accident. I have never forgotten the brave girl that forever will be in my heart. It was a life changing experience for me in my nursing career and my personnel life. I spent alot of time with you for those weeks and you were an inspiration. I came and saw you in rehab and it was amazing how much you had blossomed. I remember tearing up leaving that day thinking what an amazing girl. Now I follow you on your blog (first caringbridge) and think what amazing women you are!Your video today was touching and as a Christian made me feel proud that we have Him to be in all of our lives. I thank God that He put you in my life.
Keep up the good work. You inspire many.

Jenni, this moved me so much! To tears, of course---cuz I'm a crybaby but I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't cry. You are amazing in every way, shape and form. Thank you for being a part of my life and for being you.

Love, Steph

Jenni
I am so honored to be your friend. We not only connect as young women who live with great physical challenges, but we have the same God. I know that you are inspiring others because you do that for me. I am so impressed by your beautiful spirit and the life that you have allowed God to create for you. It is beautiful, just like you.
love, karly
